JoJo is a Double Yellow Headed Amazon (Magnum) that we know very little about. He was "found" and his previous owner was never located although considerable effort was tried. He is easy to handle--- but a bit fiesty. He is fully feathered- and fairly quiet for the most part.

Ceasar-Orange Winged Amazon

Ceasar is a female Orange-winged Amazon aproximately 12 years of age. She is always at a "race" to see if she can get out of the food door cage before you can get it shut... she just loves attention. She is very sweet to people- but appears to not really like other birds. We were told she loves men more than women but haven't seen any evidence of this at the Haven. She chatters al the time, is thought to be afraid of loud noises such as vacuum cleaners, etc. Ceasar chatters alot- and also has been heard saying Pretty bird, what are ya doin?, whistling as if she thinks someone is sexy, etc. Since arriving at the Haven Ceasar has been very easy to handle and has shown no agression other than to other birds. Ceasar would best be suited to a home where there are no other birds and the "family" has lots of time to spoil her.

Misty is a beautiful, fully feathered Military Macaw. She is a bit shy- and afraid of people, but does allow head-scritches and is learning to trust. She isn't agressive--- just scared. She does talk some. We aren't even positive she is a female--- but that is a good speculation because of her size and behavior.

Nancy is a very beautiful, fully feathered female Eclectus approximately 8 years old. She doesn't like hands at all, but will fly to you- and move quickly up to a shoulder position and sit there for hours if allowed. She was known to be a bit "bossy" to her former cagemate. Nancy has laid eggs in the past- but none of them were ever fertile, even though she was "mated" with a male Eclectus. She does have several phrases in her vocabulary.

Gabby is an approximate 14 year old Blue/Gold Macaw. Gabby is the typical Macaw- trying hard to intimidate people. Gabby does however love to be loved and cuddled once he gains your trust. It takes him a while to do this. Gabby needs to go into the home of an experienced bird person... someone that knows how to handle the macaw attitude. Gabby is mostly fully feathered- with a bit of "over-preening" on his chest from time to time. Gabby loves to talk and does so often. He knows some Spanish as he says "ola" alot. His favorite thing to do is count with you from 1 to 5 and "sing" as if he is in the opera. He also loves to show you his "big Eagle Wings" when prompted to.

Eva is a 9 year old male Blue and gold Macaw. He is fairly quiet- and very handleable. His vocabulary includes but is not limited to Maggie, hush, cracker, bye bye birdie, who's that, step up, stop it, come here, I don't know, uh-oh, shhhh, peek a boo, wong wong and mmmmm. He can make the sound of a rooster adn the sound of a duck. He loves to dance and loves for people to sing to him. He also loves playing Peek-a-boo and where's the birdie. Eva has been passed around a bit-- and just needs to find the right person to take him and love him forever.

Lucky is indeed a very lucky little bird. She was confiscated by Animal Control from a breeder that was trying to sell birds at a local traders market. She obviously had something wrong with one of her eyes. He refused to take the bird to the vet- so AC took her away. We were immediately contacted to come and get the bird. It was soon apparant that the bird had lost her eye from an injury. The injury has healed well- but Lucky will always be blind in that one eye. This however doesn't stop her... she is a very sweet little bird. We believe her to be a female- but aren't positive about that. We also believe her to be fairly young too. Although she is a bit fiesty, she isn't agressive or mean at all. She isn't really comfortable with being held but has become more used to it- and I know will adjust to enjoy it eventually. She will make someone a very wonderful little buddy.
