Many Employers just LOVE to help out their employees with their charitable givng endeavors by the "matching" or even "double-matching" the amount. For example- if you donated 10.00 a month to Wings of Love Bird Haven, Inc. with the "matching gift program the donation will double to 20.00 or even 30.00 a month by asking your employer to match it. A great way to help us out--- with out it costing you the whole amount. Please check with your company or the company of others you know to see if they offer this opportunity. Below is a list of some of the companies that have been known to contribute matching grants during the 2004 year. But... just because your companies name isn't on this list doesn't mean they won't contribute. You've gotta ask. Do it FOR THE BIRDS.

Product Donations
We can always use any of the following items:
1. Bird Toys: Items in new or good condition that already are or can be made into bird toys.
2. Office Supplies: This includes, but is not limited to: papertowels, postcard paper, copy paper, stamps, etc. If it's used in an office, we can use it.
3. Cages (Parrot): Particularly large cages for macaws are needed, but we do also need/use the smaller cages as well. Please give us a call to let us know what size / type cage you have.
4. Bird Food: We generally get more than we can use in the way of different types of bird food. What we need most is the following:
sprout mixtures for parrots from www.Chinaprairie.com or similar company, spray Millet, pellets from www.totallyorganics.com,
whole nuts and dried fruits (preferably unsalted, unsweetened and unsulphered)
5. Large tree-perch stands.
6. Service Vehicle for transporting birds/cages such as a van or SUV.
7. Frequent Flyer Miles for transporting speakers and also sending our homecheckers to homechecks in various places across Texas.
8. Free Hotel coupons/Free Car Rentals for use in towns where we are doing homecheck and bird placements.
9. Any new auctionable items for fundraising purposes.
(the possibilities here are endless but.... things such as gift certificates for retail stores or restaurants, artwork, jewelry, furniture... anything new that has value can be sold and profits go towards care of our birds.
Volunteering
We always have need of volunteers. From cage cleaning to playing with/handling the birds to toymaking.... there is a place for everyone.
If you don't live in the DFW area you can also help us out. If you are anywhere in Texas we could use you as a homechecker in your local area. Even if you live outside the state of Texas we an use your help on fundraiser events.
