Bird Surrender Fee
We ask that all those surrrendering a bird would pay a small fee when placing their bird at Wings of Love Bird Haven, Inc. to help us off-set the cost of food, disease testing and vet care the bird will receive while here at the Haven. Occassionally the fee can be waived depending on the circumstance. The final decision is made by the Ex. Director of WOL Bird Haven and/or the Board. If the donor fee is waived, that fee is added on to the adoption fee when the bird is adopted.
On an average a bird resides at WOL Bird Haven, Inc. for 3 months before being placed in a new forever home. During this time several expenses typically occur. Of course there is the food and special supplements that the birds are given for nutrition and healthcare, there is disease and blood work costs, vet bills if needed. Even for a small bird the average for care during these 3 months is about 200.00 per bird. We don't ask you to pay the entire thing, however appreciate anything you can do to help us offset these costs. Below is our suggestion for donation for the particular bird you are surrendering...
Donor Fees are as follows:
50.00- small bird (Conure, Quaker, etc.)
75.00 medium bird (African Grey, Eclectus, etc.)
150.00 large bird (Cockatoo, Macaw etc.)
