Haven Feathers

GABBY- Blue and Gold Macaw--- Adoptable

Gabby is an approximate 13 year old Blue/Gold Macaw. He is beautiful and fully feathered, however occasional stressful situations cause him to begin pluckng--- nothing so far ever serious. Gabby talks- saying such thing as "polly want a cracker, hello, hi, Mama, Ola, pretty bird, I love you  and he sometimes will count (or help you count) to five. Gabby also LOVES to sing opera. He is handleable--- but sometimes a bit nippy. Gabby is used to being around other birds, kids and dogs. He really just needs someone to love him and spend lots of quality time with him.

BUDDY- Timneh Grey--- Adoptable

Buddy is an approximate 9 year old Timneh Grey. He is a very sweet and gentle bird with a huge vocabulary. As with many greys, he has choosen one area of his feathers to "pluck" and not allow to grow back in. In Buddy's case it is his tail. He is on a great diet of veggies, seeds and grains as well as a few pellets and seeds-- and is a hearty eater. Some of his vocabulary are: come here, step up, what's your name?, what's your problem? What's up.... he has many many more. He also carries on a conversation with his "friend" Shamrock. Buddy was used to being in a home with dog, but not children.  Because Buddy and Shamrock are such good "buddies" they must be adopted together.

SHAMROCK- Hawn's Mini Macaw--- Adoptable

Shamrock- better known as "Shammy" is a 3 year old Hawns Mini-Macaw. Until only 7 months ago he was in full feather, however some stress in his home caused him to p luck his feathers. Shammy has been here at the Haven only a few weeks and we already see great improvment in his feathers. We believe he will have no problem fully feathering out to the beautiful bird he was before. Shammy takes a few days to get to know someone, but once he is adjusted he is a really sweet "cuddlebug". Shammy has a huge vocabulary. Some of his vocabulary include... come here, I'm shammy, mommy get you some, gonna get ya, he's a good boy, and many many more. Shammy and Buddy carry on great conversations between them as well. For this reason they must be adopted together. They will live in separate cages, however need to be in the same home and same area so they can remain friends. The pair truely are a joy to be around.

FOLLY- Moluccan Cockatoo--- in rehab

Folly is a Moluccan Cockatoo that we don't have the exact age on. He was with his most recent owner for 11 years, but does appear to be much older than this. Folly doesn't talk. He is also "cage territorial" which means he doesn't like to come out of his cage at all. We believe that with lots of love and attention he will learn to love being cuddled and held.

Clara- Black Headed Caique--- adoptable

Clara is a Black Headed Caique. She was well loved and cared for, but job responsibilities kept her owner from giving her the attention she deserved. Her owner wanted to be certain that Clara got lots of love and attention so she brought her here to the Haven for us to find Clara a new forever home. Clara is sometimes very sweet- and then without warning will bite. She needs to go to an experienced bird person that knows how to handle this behavior.
