Rehabilitation

Birds are worked with in the following ways to make sure they are ready for going to their new adoptive homes. Our trainers work one on one with the birds and then formulate an IRP (Individual Rehabilitation Process) for each bird. These IRP's are then followed by all of the volunteers as we work with each bird. Once the bird is deemed adoptable by the trainer/director we will begin the process of searching for a new home for each bird.

1. Nutrition and diet

2. General health

3. Proper enrichment (teaching the bird to play with toys and other enrichment activities)

4. Interacting with other birds and people

5. Each birds IRP is specific to him (IRP= Individualized Rehabilitation Process)

6. We spend a lot of time promoting trust and confidence in each bird.
